GROWING AND LEARNING TOGETHER

CLINT W. R. HIGGS
Math & Computer Educator & Enthusiast
Welcome to this site for Math Educators and professionals. The aim of this site site is to grow and learn together in the area of Secondary Mathematics. Here you can rediscover and further develop a love for mathematics education. With almost 30 years of experience in education, particularly in mathematics and technology, I have acquired an unlimited amount of resources that I want to share with you to help you become better teachers and so that students can discover how much fun and excitement there can be in the world of mathematics. We know from research that students think mathematics is hard or is a subject they cannot do as well as others. We also know all it takes is showing students that it is fun, exciting, relevant and easy. In our delivery of instruction, once we are excited and show students how to connect the dots in how it applies to their lives, they will also become excited.
I know that writing lessons, finding resources, using technology and delivering instruction can be challenging and time consuming. I am dedicated to providing you with resources that I have acquired and created over these years so that you can work smart and not hard. You now have someone in your corner in the area of education, mathematics and technology to help lighten the load. Some may say I am a little obsessed with looking at mathematics education to see what works and trying to get that knowledge in front of teachers and students. I believe once we can excite students about math and show them its relevance, it makes teaching and learning easier, and our students become better citizens and people in the long run.
I have been trained as a Mathematics and Computer Studies teacher, certified as a Technology Specialist, earned a Masters Degree in Organizational Learning and Leadership from Barry University in Miami, Florida and have a passion for teaching and seeing people learn and grow. I will continue to add to this site as many resources as possible to help math teachers thrive in the classroom so that students become more excited about learning mathematics.
I believe when you have a passion for teaching, and you dedicate each day to reading, learning, discovery and finding ways to engage your students in the learning process, the results are rewarding and students start to see education as meaningful!
